This summer has been kinda… Strange. It hasn’t really FELT like I’ve been living “summer”, but I think that has a lot to do with the fact that the weather has been less than mediocre. I literally got my first semblance of a tan this past weekend after reading outside all afternoon.
Nevertheless, summer is my absolute favorite season. Amber recently wrote a summer confessions post that inspired me to dig a little bit and think about why and what I love about these (supposedly) hot, sunshine-filled months of the year.
In the summer, I have this ridiculous need to go to a concert almost every week. It just doesn’t *feel* like summer if I’m not constantly, excessively, going to shows.
In the summer, my spending is completely out of whack because I just freaking love buying summer clothes so much. This year has been all about colorful pants/shorts, sheer tops, scarves, and cute sandals.
In the summer, I require one day off every week where the sun is shining, and I can just sit outside with a good book. This is what a perfect summer day feels like to me.
In the summer, I find it very difficult to go to work more than 3 times per week. I still have this possibility to work only 3 days because I work retail, and my hours are all over the place, so I can actually enjoy as many days as I have to live away from beautiful weather.
In the summer, ice cream sandwiches every day are mandatory.
In the summer, NOT going on vacation is basically against my own personal rules of living. It’s just not a summer unless I’m planning a getaway in August. 5 days, anyone?! FIVE DAYS!
In the summer, I find myself obsessively planning my reading schedule, and then I pretty much never stick to it. BUT I always need to plan it in advance. I’m such a weirdo.
In the summer, I no matter how much I love the beautiful weather, I always miss straightening my hair. I also dislike the increased number of spiders/bugs… But live with it, because there is no snow
What do you have to confess about your likes/dislikes in the summer?
