So you want to know more about the girl behind the writing?

My name is Melissa and I’m a 22 year old student living in Montreal. I am many things, but at heart I’m just a girl trying to find her way through the world.

I love to travel, see live music, write (personally and professionally), read, and accomplish goals! I am addicted to social media, you can find me on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and Linkedin as well as here, of course.I am an eternal optimist, regardless of my situation. I am constantly seeking a greater perhaps. (I use those words not as my own, but those of one of my favorite authors John Green, from his fantastic novel Looking for Alaska)

I work for a company that I love, selling and recommending books. One day, if I don’t end up in the music industry, I hope to pursue a career in publishing. Reading has been one of my greatest escapes ever since I was old enough to understand the words on a page. Harry Potter was  somewhere around my beginning. I love to write about the books I read on my blog; you’ll often find me reviewing my favorites (and not-so-favorites if the opportunity arises). I am particularly fond of YA literature, biographies, and contemporary fiction.

I also work for an online music magazine based right out of my hometown called CONFRONT. I regularly interview musicians as they make their way through Montreal, and I later write articles about it! I have had the humbling opportunity of sitting down to talk with some of my favorite artists, and I wouldn’t trade those experiences for anything. I was interviewed on this blog about my job and my passion for music, so feel free to check it out!

I write about everything from travels, to goals, to my adventures with friends and family. I am inspired by my every day life to write pieces that will hopefully inspire you, too!
