Sponsor Press Play!

blogButton

It’s been a while since I’ve done a little bit of shameless plugging for my sponsor info, but with spring/summer right around the corner, I love spending more time on my blog, which means I love meeting new bloggers & sharing their amazing spaces with my readers!

Check out my Sponsor Info page for all the different packages I offer bloggers. You can be the featured blogger for a month, you can advertise with me on my sidebar, or we can do the regular blogger ad swap!

Over the year, my followers have increased, my page views have increased, and so has my following on Twitter/Tumblr/Facebook. There are tons of ways that your blog will get some view-time around here :)

Don’t forget, you can also participate in my weekly ‘Five Songs That Changed My Life‘ feature as well, which is now well into it’s third month! It’s been so much fun sharing everyone’s favorite music on my blog, and I hope to continue this feature for as long as I possibly can. This is open to everyone, not just sponsors, so send me an e-mail at: mliss024[at]gmail[dot]com, or just leave me a comment below to let me know you’re interested.

Happy Tuesday!

One Thousand

On January 10th 2008, I hit ‘publish’ for the first time on a blog that would become this very space. In five years, I have accumulated one thousand posts. One thousand moments of my life were at a computer, writing my thoughts for anyone in the world to see.

Occasionally I visit a previous month of my archives to see where I was in my life, but rarely have I ever gone back to January 2008. When I saw my post count at ’999′ I knew it was time to visit that faraway time in my life. It looked a little bit like this:

“ I don’t know where I’m going to go with this blog. I don’t know if I want to do a theme or talk about all personal things, or whatever.
We’ll see as I go.
Because honestly, I don’t have much to talk about right now.
Actually I just have one thing to mention. Why is it that every person that blogs is either insanely creative or doesn’t mind talking about every single thing that happens in their life?
I mean I don’t think I can wake up every morning, come online and have something inspiring to tell the world.
I also don’t think I can be the most honest person to this website.
Why am I doing this again?

I actually laughed out loud when I read this, because as bloggers, we often ask ourselves the question ‘Why am I doing this again?’ and for me that has never changed. Before I even understood the world of blogs, blogging, and bloggers. Before I really knew what it meant to BE a blogger. I was just a girl writing down some feelings. My blog has seen me through EVERYTHING. All my concerts, my travels, my family and friend struggles… One thousand memorable moments worth writing.

After so long, I’m still not anywhere near tired of blogging. Any time something important happens in my life, I need to have it in this space. Over the years, it has become my space for anything and everything. I’ve made faraway friends (and some closer to home, too!) and I just wouldn’t change that for the world.

One thousand posts later, I’m ready to see where I take my writing next. I’ve evolved a lot over the years, I’ve learned a lot about my writing style and I think I’ve improved quite a bit too (that first post, really?) but I think in the end, this space became exactly what I was so unsure of in the beginning- and I’m totally okay with that. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of writing; in fact, my blog has led me to so many other fantastic writers and they have all been an inspiration to me. I hope to only get better from here, take more time to work on my technique and who knows? One day make a living doing something that I have loved for as long as I can remember.

Here’s to one thousand more memorable moments worth blogging about :)

Why do you blog? Could you imagine your life without your internet space?

Bits, Pieces & an Award!

I can’t believe I’ve already been home for 5 days. It feels like this summer is going by in the blink of an EYE. But as the saying goes, time flies when you’re having fun! And I really am having one of the best summers of my life. Every single month has been amazing.

Except these last 3 days when I had the worst case of food poisoning EVER and I just don’t wish that on anyone. I’m very happy to be feeling like myself again.

I thought I’d use today as a bit of a catch up on my blog kind of day, and the next few days I have my last few posts about Brazil lined up with pictures and all that fun stuff! I can’t believe I’m already putting that amazing trip behind me and moving on to round 2- Europe- in just one week!

There hasn’t been a whole lot going on in my life since I landed in Montreal 5 days ago. I got to see a few friends on my first two days, but by the evening of day two I had food poisoning and wasn’t able to move until basically yesterday. I’m still a little bit iffy today, but I’m definitely heading back to work and excited to be getting out of the house! I went to see The Dark Knight Rises last night at the last minute as well- not only was the move FANTASTIC, but I was so freaking EXCITED to get out, even for just a few hours, and even if it meant sitting in a dark theater. I wasn’t feeling great by the time I came back home so I knew that I’d pushed myself a bit too much already. I’m hoping all goes well at work today!

My puppy kept me company almost the whole time I was sick! I like to think he was keeping an eye on me :)

This week is all about work, running errands before I leave for Europe, seeing friends & family when I can, and then I’m off! I know these next seven days will just fly by and I want to make the best of these last “anticipation” moments pre-travel. I love having such a big, fun thing to look forward to, and I know that coming home and getting ready for school isn’t NEARLY as exciting. So, yeah, making the best of things!

Finally, the lovely San from The In Between is Mine gave me a blog award a few days ago and I wanted to share :)

I’m always so honored when another blogger things of giving me one of these, I absolutely had to play along!

Here are the rules to go along with the award:

1) Post the award logo on your blog and link back to the person who nominated you.
2) Tell seven things about yourself.
3) Nominate up to 15 additional bloggers whom you think deserve the award.
4) Post a comment on the blog of each nominee to tell them they have been nominated!

& here are 7 things about me that you may or may not already know.

1. My favorite color is turquoise.

2. The current TV shows that have my heart for the summer: Weeds and Hell’s Kitchen. I haven’t made time to watch ANYTHING else.

3. I am in love with Europe and have kinda high expectations for my trip next week. I can’t help it- Italy, France & England are three places I’ve wanted to see my whole life… I can’t believe I’ll be there in just SEVEN. DAYS.

4. I’m addicted to the song ‘Wide Awake’ by Katy Perry. I keep imagining her turning into a butterfly like she did when she performed the song for the first time on the MMVA’s!

5. Even though I broke my Harry Potter Maurauder’s Map mug from HP world, I still use it almost every day!

6. Today will be my first day back at work in what I think is now over a month. It does NOT feel that long at all!

7. I am still weirdly obsessed with Ed Sheeran. I listen to his stuff ALL the time, particularly while I read Harry Potter!

I’m going to nominate five people for the lovely blog award:

Jessica from Sweet Green Tangerine

Lisa from Lisa’s Yarn’s

Liz from Dance to the Radio

Megan from Semi-Charmed Kind of Life

Erin from Erin B. Inspired

Congrats ladies, you deserve it- your blogs are fantastic :)

 Happy Monday everyone!

Meet the Sponsors! {April}

The great thing about sponsoring blogs through an ad swap is that all the ladies on my sidebar are bloggers I have come to know and love their work. I currently have six sponsors up on my sidebar, and am willing to go up to TEN. So if you’re interested in having a spot up there, please feel free to leave me a comment or send me an e-mail at mliss024[at]gmail[dot]com.

All the lovely bloggers who’ve agreed to sponsor me don’t really know that I’m doing this, but since I’m a fan of their work, I thought I’d introduce you to the six of them today and why I think you should be reading THEIR blogs.

Allyson from Lovely Explorer

Allyson reminds me SO MUCH of myself as a blogger. She writes about life as a Public Relations intern, travel, music, and everything in between. I discovered her through our ad swap and have been SO happy learning more about her!

Stephany from Stephany Writes

Stephany is one of my absolute favorite bloggers and my blogger BFF. I’ve been a follower of hers for years now, and love reading about her life as she makes her way through all of its adventures. From health, to travel, to her goals, all of her posts are worth checking out!

Liz from Dance to the Radio

I first discovered Liz because of the gorgeous jewelry she makes over at her shop Craft to the Radio. Other than trying really hard to not buy out her entire stock of necklaces, I love reading her blog. It is my fix for new music any time I need it, interspersed with bits and pieces of her life!

Natasha from Small and Charming

Natasha’s blog is a fantastic space if you’re looking for great writing. If I’m not mistaken, she writes almost every single day, and her posts are always so well done. Not to mention she also has a Life List, like me!

Jessica from Sweet Green Tangerine

Jessica and I first met over our mutual love for Mumford and Sons. Since then, it has been so good getting to know her through her blog. She writes about music, books (we have SUCH SIMILAR TASTE in both) and her adventures accomplishing goals, as well as being a mama to two beautiful little boys.

San from The In Between is Mine

San is a lovely blogger that I met thanks to Twitter and our love of books. Her blog is filled with her life adventures, beautiful pictures, and the things that inspire her every day. She is one of the sweetest ladies I have had the pleasure of meeting through the blog world!

I hope you’ll take some time to check out the bloggers that you didn’t already know, and leave them some love!
